Title: Crazy for Loving You

A Bluewater Billionaires Novel

Author: Pippa Grant
Genre: Romantic Comedy

 Release Date: November 8, 2019

Blurb

Is there anything hotter than a growly, overprotective
Marine cradling a baby? My melted ovaries don’t think so.
When you work hard and have the bank account to prove it,
you’re entitled to play hard. I’ve seen some crazy things. I’ve caused some
crazy scenes. And there’s no shame in my game.
But I’m still knocked off my stilettos when an insane chain
of events leads to me inheriting a baby. The craziest part? The baby comes with
a by-the-books, no-nonsense retired Marine who’s so regimented that I wouldn’t
be surprised if he irons his boxer shorts.
Parenting? Bring it on. I don’t need sleep—I once started my
day with business meetings in Cairo and ended it three days later at a club in
Melbourne. Changing diapers? Please. It can’t be any more challenging than
changing out of Spanx on the back of a moving motorcycle. Training the little guy
to run the family’s real estate empire? He’ll be all our bosses by the time
he’s four.
But living with my new co-guardian? The gruff, muscled,
tattooed former military man who manages to check all my boxes while trying to
sneak under my skin?
He needs to go.
Because the longer he stays, the more layers he’s peeling
off my heart.
But love isn’t something that’s ever diluted my gene pool,
and I like my life just fine without it. I have awesome friends, this adorable
baby and an obscene amount of money. Who needs love?
Turns out…maybe me.
Crazy for Loving You is a larger-than life ride
through accidental parenthood featuring a fun-loving billionaire playgirl, a
crusty Marine with a gooey center, a horny dolphin, the world’s most obscene
pool, and all the fun you’d expect from a world built by Lucy Score, Claire
Kingsley, Kathryn Nolan, and Pippa Grant.

Wild Open Hearts by Katheryn Nolan

Title: Wild Open Hearts
Series: A Bluewater Billionaires Romantic Comedy
Author: Kathryn Nolan
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: October 25, 2019
Cover Design: Kari March Designs

Luna da Rosa is America’s Vegan Best Friend. The self-made billionaire is a flower-crowned hippie whose Instagram feed is as popular as Wild Heart – her vegan makeup company. When she’s not changing the cosmetics industry, she’s dazzling her online fans with kombucha recipes. Until Wild Heart is caught in a scandal – destroying her reputation as a cheerful do-gooder.
Beck Mason is the prodigal son of Miami’s most notorious biker gang. But Beck left his criminal family to start Lucky Dog, rescuing dogs who need the most help. Except the surly ex-outlaw never realized leading a struggling nonprofit with a ragtag crew would be so damn hard. They’re in dire need of cash – and fast.
Luna believes working at Lucky Dog will fix her image problem and get Beck the money he needs. It’s a win-win, right? Except Beck doesn’t like the sunny, free-spirited…okay beautiful…billionaire. He sure as hell doesn’t trust Luna not to use him just to make herself look good.
Sure – Beck’s grumpy, stubborn pride and meat-eating ways irritate Luna. Even though Beck’s big-heart-and-big-beard-combo is dangerously sexy. And they really shouldn’t have shared The Kiss to End All Kisses on the back of his motorcycle one night…
But as the bohemian billionaire and the burly biker give into their electrifying attraction – will their differences keep them apart? Or will they finally learn to trust their wild hearts?
Author’s Note: Big, grumpy, bearded hero. Happy-go-lucky, hippie heroine. Snarky banter. Opposites that don’t so much attract as combust. Motorcycle sex. Steamy Miami nights. Four lady billionaire best friends. All the rescue dogs. Major heart-feels.

My review:

Luna is the kindhearted hippie of the Bluewater group and I love her. She worked hard to build her cruelty-free cosmetics company to what it is today, and is beloved by people all across America. She is genuine and it shows through her social media presence and branding, and that’s why she is so popular. Until she is blindsided by a lying supplier, and her business starts crumbling almost as fast as her image shattered.

Luna does some soul searching and realizes she lost sight of her values and decides to focus on giving. She is introduced to Beck’s organization, Lucky Dog, and finds a cause that she really connects with.

Watching Luna and Beck bond is so good. The two are complete opposites in every way, except in what they care about: helping the dogs. Luna is feeling battered by life, Beck has trust issues, but they somehow bring out the best in each other. She helps him become the leader his organization needs, and he helps her to find her strength again.

This opposites attract story is a great read, but then add in all the wonderful dogs (you know they’re my favorite) and this book is just incredible.

Kathryn Nolan is an adventurous hippie chick and loves to write steamy romance. Her books are filled with slow-burn sexual tension, memorable characters, tons of heart — and are often set in wild and beautiful locations.
Kathryn started her writing career in elementary school, writing about Star Wars and Harry Potter and inventing love stories in her many journals. She blames her obsession with slow-burn on her similar obsession for The X-Files.
Kathryn is a wanderer at heart, and loves to spend her free time hiking, camping, and traveling in her camper van (“Van Morrison”) with her cute, nerdy husband and Walter, their rescue pup. Kathryn is a Philly girl who just moved back home after spending more than 8 years living in Northern California — and six months traveling across the country in her camper van.

My review:

This series is so fun. While they can all be read as standalones – there are no cliffhangers and each book is the story of one couple – all the characters of the series are interconnected. Vince is the brother to Rocky of Tap Out. Holly is a new character for us, a childhood friend of Kyle from Espresso Patronum. (BTW this series has the absolute best coffee shop concept around and I WISH I could go there in real life!)

Holly has escaped her past and is staying with her childhood best friend Kyle and his husband Lyle, and putting her baking skills to good use in their coffee shop. Vince is on a mission to satisfy his pregnant sister’s cravings and get on her good side, and is blown away by the baker behind the treats. Their attraction to each other is undeniable, but Holly is still afraid of something. Slowly Vince wins her trust and these two are beautiful together.

I want a real life Coven. Can we make that happen, people? This group of women Gets. Stuff. Done. and it’s inspiring. And a little scary. Holly makes a perfect addition to the group.

I loved seeing big, tough guy Vince turn into a ball of cookie dough over Holly. It’s adorable when the giants fall. And even better is that he owns the heck out of it. He isn’t ashamed at all of how he feels, nor does he try to hide it from anyone. He is crazy about Holly and doesn’t care who knows it. Seeing a big, bad, UFC fighter show emotions like that is a wonderful example of positive masculinity. That is missing from so many romance novels.

I could go on, but just read this book. Read the entire series. Each book keeps getting better and better.

Frayed by Layne Deemer

Title: Frayed
Author: Layne Deemer
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Release Date: November 7, 2019
Cover Design: Murphy Rae

Owen Hanson packs a bag and leaves his past where it belongs—dead and buried in his small Connecticut hometown. His new life as a clothing inspector is boring and predictable and the perfect escape. He’s finally in control.

Lydia March is unexpected, but he can’t avoid her even if he tries. She makes him feel things and throws the delicate balance of his orderly life off its axis.

When Owen begins receiving mysterious messages from an unknown admirer, it’s not long before his world begins to spiral and nothing is as it seems. Is Lydia writing the notes or is it someone else? Has his past finally caught up with him?

When reality starts to fray at the edges, it’s impossible not to pick at the loose threads and watch as everything unravels. Can Owen hold onto the control he so desperately clings to or will his life be reduced to nothing more than a tangled mass of chaos?

My review:

This… was different. The first several chapters of the book are almost all Owen’s internal dialogue, with minimal interaction with other characters. He is quiet and keeps to himself, and wants little to do with others. We learn that he has basically run away to get a fresh start after a tragic accident. His mother and brother worry about him but he seems a bit detached from them. Then he meets Lydia at work, and she makes him start to feel again. Like Owen, Lydia is running from a past, hers being an abusive ex boyfriend. But nothing and no one are what they seem to be in this book.

Frayed is only told from Owen’s point of view, and it’s an odd journey through his mind. Lydia is a refreshing change from his greyness – but things don’t quite add up with her as well. But is it Owen’s misinterpretation? Or is she not what she seems?  And the mystery of who is slipping Owen the anonymous notes adds to the confusion.

This was an enjoyable book, but I doubt I’ll reread it. I was curious to see what happened and get answers, all of which are revealed in the very end. And I mean all of them – including answers we didn’t know we didn’t have before. And honestly, that tainted my outlook of the whole book I think. I can’t say more because major spoilers, but just be warned this isn’t a happily ever after book.

If you like psychological suspense, check this out. It’s not a bad book at all and a good first book for an author. It just didn’t resonate with me like some others do. I do know why, but again, spoilers. I would have to give away the ending to explain it but it is 100% what I, personally, need from a book and nothing to do with the quality of the book at all.

Layne Deemer aims to push boundaries with her writing. Her stories deconstruct the ordinary until it becomes something else entirely.

She has a degree in Communications with a minor in English and has worked in the fields of public relations, marketing, and advertising, but writing has always been her true passion. When she isn’t writing, she’s reading. Her wish list of books will take her a lifetime to get through.

She resides in Pennsylvania with her husband, Adam, their two kids, Stella and Jasper, and their bulldog, Archie. Frayed, a psychological thriller, is her first novel.

My review:

This is the fourth and last installment in the Bluewater Billionaires series and it was so worth the wait! This book is all about Daisy, the big hearted, hard working and hard playing real estate mogul. Daisy is shocked to find that she has been named guardian of her recently deceased cousin’s newborn son, along with a retired Marine starting a construction business who worked on the baby’s nursery. But these strangers must become allies to protect the baby from those who want to control him.

We have seen Daisy as the free spirited, happy go lucky party girl who is always there for her friends. But sometimes, the hardest armor is the brightest, and Daisy’s armor is hiding a lot. West has his own walls, for his own reason. Seeing these two learn to parent and work as a team, while getting through each other’s barriers is the best. I really enjoyed the Bluewater Boyfriends’ welcome to West, too. That was just plain fun.

A connecting thread of this series is that family is what you make. Seeing Daisy and West learn to be a family with baby Remy, and the family that is Emily, Cam, Luna, and Daisy, is so touching. And by the way, West has an amazing family, for real.

Once Upon A Holiday by Claudia Burgoa

Title: Once Upon a Holiday
Author: Claudia Burgoa
Genre: Romantic Comedy/Holiday Romance
Release Date: November 7, 2019

Blurb
This holiday season, there’s more than gingerbread in the oven.

I was always a type-A kind of girl— and that’s exactly what got me into trouble with Sterling Ahren.
Having a baby before thirty didn’t work out, so I took some time off to sort out my life.
Sterling’s my new landlord… and he doesn’t plan anything. He’s a billionaire playboy who can’t stand the holidays. A recluse of the worst kind. Sterling makes Scrooge look like a generous soul … except Ebenezer was never this sexy.
He doesn’t want a family— until the night we have a spontaneous one-night stand, and we run out of condoms. I can’t have a baby with a disorganized, free spirit like him. Between my overprotective brothers and his crazy fans, I already know this isn’t going to work out. Except Sterling isn’t willing to let me go. He wants me home for the holidays … and this is my last chance to make a Christmas miracle happen.
One thing I know for sure: when Sterling and I collide, it’s going to be anything but a silent night.

Funny, touching, and delightful, this smoking hot billionaire holiday rom-com by Claudia Burgoa will make you feel the magic of Christmas.
My review:
I love Sterling. He is no stranger to us, since he is Wes’s brother from Begin With You and Back To You. We also meet June’s family in her brother Jason’s book Then He Happened. However, if you haven’t read these previously there is no need to worry, Sterling and June’s story is a standalone.
June is tired of waiting for happiness, and has decided to go out and take it. She is following an unconventional path to reach her dream, but she is determined and she has a plan. Sterling is convinced he does not deserve love and would be a terrible partner. He is resigned to a lonely life. Stalkers and crazy fans lead him to push his brother and sister in law away in order to keep them safe. Neither of them are looking for a relationship.
But accidents happen and plans change. People change, as well.
I loved this story. I knew Sterling had a heart underneath that armor. And June was so good. Her relationship with her family and the way she stood up to her brothers was perfection.
This is a perfect holiday read. Get it now!

Trailer

Excerpt
“That’s
only the office. My office. The rest of the house is gray, white, and
black,” I explain as I show him all the pictures. “The master bedroom is going
to be pink because of the bedding, but I’ll take it with me.”
He looks at
me suspiciously and says, “Fine, you have good taste. Get neutral bedding, I’m
not sleeping on a pink bed.”
You’re
not sleeping with me,

I don’t say.
“We just
need a Christmas tree,” I add, wondering if I should buy an artificial one or a
pine.
Scanning
the house where we’re at, I find the perfect spot and walk toward it. “Here.”
“What’s
happening there?” Sterling’s frown deepens.
“That’s
where we’re setting the Christmas tree,” I answer, already thinking about the
colors that will fit the house. “What do you have in storage? Any red or gold
ornaments? I mean, if you already have a color scheme, I’ll work with it, but
shades of red and gold would pop with your decor.”
Sterling
looks at me. More like he gives me a nasty glare. “We don’t do Christmas or
celebrate any holidays. The only colors I have in this house are in my studios
and well, you. Their only purpose is to create art.”
I frown and
place my hands on my hips. “I’m a color?”
He grins
and winks at me. “A very special one but let’s not digress.”
“What are
you saying? I’m not allowed to have a Christmas tree and fill my space with
cheer and joy.”
“You can do
it for the rental. That’s your place for the next year and you can set Santa’s
Workshop in there if you want to.”
“Hmm.”
“You’re
judging me.”
“Not at
all. Just wondering how we can get the pine here and we’ll need decorations,” I
continue and turn to look at Beckett. “You seem like a resourceful man. Can you
make this happen for us?”
Beckett
smirks. “Red and gold?”
“Add some
silver too it if you can find it. And if you see some decorations that’ll go
with the ornaments, send me pictures before you buy them. The place looks
bare.”
“No,”
Sterling protests.
“I’ll have
the team work on it. We’ll help you trim once we have what you need, Miss
Spearman.”
“Thank you,
Beck.”
“Juniper, I
swear,” Sterling utters, his face is red, and it’s kind of funny to see him
flustered.
“Yeah, you
can swear. I’ve heard you for the past week. Also, I know you can use some
holiday cheer and I’m here to share it with you.”
“Over my
dead body.” He sounds stern.
“Beck might
be able to do that too if you insist,” I say. “He seems to be trained to take
down bad guys and I bet he knows how to hide your body and make your
disappearance look like a holiday miracle.”
He doesn’t
say a word, but I see there’s a smile playing on his lips.
