My review:
This was a good book. Erin is trying to figure out who she is now that she’s not married to the man she’s been with since she was 10 years old. She doesn’t want anything serious, but she does like being with Devin. But then feelings get felt and things get sticky.
I mostly liked Erin. I liked that she wanted to take the time to get to know herself better, and not through the filter of her ex husband. I loved her sister and her friend Zoey, too. But I didn’t fully connect with her – the capable businesswoman side and the insecure, self-sabotaging side didn’t really mesh. It almost felt a little forced. I liked Devin, and his siblings. But even though I could see the conflict coming way ahead of time, it was still cringey to read. Luckily, being a romance novel with the standard HEA, things worked out in the end.
All in all, it’s an enjoyable read with a good story, good characters, and good pacing. I just didn’t love it.
