do big, strong men in peak physical condition.
This book was so good! I really enjoyed Gage and Rocky’s story but I loved Rocky so much. But first of all, even though this is part of the BTU Alumni series, this truly is a standalone story. There is character crossover, but you don’t need information from the first book to understand this one (although it’s really good too, you should totally read it).
Ok now that’s out of the way.
Rocky. She is a fantastic female character. She is strong, she’s a skilled fighter, physical therapist, and an all around good person. Even though she has to deal with latent sexism from one of the people who should support her the most, she still works hard and does her best at all times. And she can easily hold her own with all the testosterone-filled fighters and athletes she is surrounded by daily.
Gage is a fighter with a secret. He’s also just moved across the country to be close to his family. He first meets Rocky in a local bar where she is being harassed by some drunk jerks, but is blown away when she takes care of them without needing him to step in like he had planned. That first meeting had him hooked and he was shocked to find out the next day that she is his new coach’s daughter.
This book was so fun to read. I loved the appearances by the other characters, especially the younger siblings. Those kids are going to take over the world one day! And the Coven group texts are priceless! We got a taste of the Coven in the previous book but we get so much more here and it’s everything. We all need a group of friends like that.
lab, and let’s face it on some days her hubby is her 4th kid… But to be fair she totally loves him a a lot. When she’s not corralling her crazy mini royals she can be found writing the stories the voices in her head tell her. Caffeine is a staple in her daily diet since she does most of her writing late at night when the rest of her house is asleep, usually with her trusty dog Buke (short for Beukeboom reluctantly named after a NY Ranger even though she’s a NJ Devils fan all the way. Is it any surprise she writes sports romances? Pizza and mac-n-cheese are major food groups and she is a proud Potterhead and superhero buff. She is a complete romance junkie and can always be found reading or listening to a book.
