ever worked for.To get it all back, I’ll have to return home and protect the most stubborn
woman on the face of the planet. To do that effectively, I’ll need to go
undercover as…a Manny.
I didn’t mean to fall for her or the kid. I really should have known better.
When you get this close, it’s easy to get burned.
But I’ll do anything to protect them, even if it costs me everything…again.
Neela’s childhood best friend Willa is killed in a car accident, and she leaves her entire estate to her infant daughter, naming Neela her daughter’s guardian. Willa had a sizable fortune and shady connections, leading her lawyer to recommend security for Neela and the baby. Neela grew up with guards, though, and doesn’t want Mayzie to have the same experience so the lawyer hires the security team to pose as nannies for the baby.
Like the Royals United duet, we are back on the Winston Isles in the Caribbean with some familiar faces. Ariel, former Royal Guard, now has her own company and is hiring her agents. Jax is her first hire, recommended by Roone. Their first assignment is for Jax to go undercover as nanny for baby Mayzie and keep her and Neela safe, as well as find out who is trying to hurt them.
This was a good book, but fair warning it is half the story. The second half of the duet releases next month. There is plenty of action in this half, though. Not a lot of relationship progress happens, but lots of foundation is laid. We are left with so many questions, and I am eager to read the conclusion to get all the answers.
Technically this duet is a standalone, even though many of the characters are from past books of Ms Malone’s. What background information is needed is explained very well so a new reader wouldn’t feel lost or like they were missing something. If cliffhangers aren’t your thing, though, I recommend getting both books and reading them back to back when the second is released.
things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she
borrowed from her cousin on a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana at a precocious
thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner
Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own
characters. Waiting for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, Nana, meantime
works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as
sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.
The books in her series have been on multiple Amazon Kindle
and Barnes & Noble best seller lists as well as the iTunes Breakout Books
list and most notably the USA Today Bestseller list.
Until that ninja job comes through, you’ll find Nana working
hard on additional books for her series as well as other fun, sassy romances
for characters that won’t leave her alone. And if she’s not working or hiding
in the closet reading, she’s acting out scenes for her husband, daughter and
puppy in sunny San Diego.
