My review:
Roone is a Royal Guard, former SAS and best friends with the now King of some Caribbean island and his brother. Roone and his partner Ariel have been assigned to London to protect Jessa, who doesn’t know she’s a princess and sister to the king and his brother. She works at a PR firm and is good at her job. She does not like Roone, and resents being stuck with him as a coworker and neighbor (undercover). But there are sparks neither one of them can deny, and the more time they spend with each other not fighting, the more they actually like each other.
Fair warning, this book does end with a cliffhanger and book 2 will be released in January.
What I liked: Jessa’s attitude, and her ability to handle herself. Roone is a good guy, and they are good for each other. He resents not being allowed to tell her the truth about who he is and why he’s there but does everything he can to keep her safe anyway.
What I didn’t like: This feels like book 2 or 3 in a series, and not book 1. The back story of Roone, Sebastian, and Lucas is referred to repeatedly in vague terms, but something big happened and we have no idea what. Also, hello cliffhanger! But I did know what I was getting into with this book so I can’t hate on that too badly.
Overall, a good, interesting read but you probably want to wait until the second book is out and read them back to back to avoid CliffHangover.
