Can’t Text This by Teagan Hunter

Can’t Text This is the third of the “texting” books by Teagan Hunter. While all three can easily be enjoyed as standalones, some characters do cross over. We first meet Robbie in Let’s Get Textual, as Zach’s roommate. Zach, Delia, and Zoe all make appearances in this book but you don’t have to know who they are to enjoy this one.

(Although both Let’s Get Textual and I Wanna Text You Up are both free to read via Kindle Unlimited so what are you waiting for?? I’ve reviewed both here  and here)

Robbie is a single dad of 7 year old Xavier. Monty is a gorgeous, buttoned up redhead he meets at a bar one night. He comes onto her and they end up making out in the bathroom before she panics and takes off – but not without first leaving him her phone number. The next day he is still thinking about her, and under the influence of Zach, Robbie texts her. He suggests they “bang it out of their systems” and surprisingly she agrees. She does want to get to know him first, and eventually they’re texting daily. But just when things are going really well for them, they hit a major roadblock neither of them saw coming.

I don’t want to spoil the book for you so I won’t summarize the whole thing. But Robbie and Monty are gold together. They really complement each other well. She softens him, he helps her be bolder. And seriously, Xavier is a scene stealer every time he appears. I love the relationship Robbie and Xavier have.

I honestly can’t think of anything I didn’t like about this book. Except that maybe more Thumbelina? You’ll just have to read to see who that is. Can’t Text This releases next week, October 11.
